My Name is Sydney O’Shaughnessy and I am a recent graduate from Ithaca College with a B.A. in journalism and a B.S. in environmental science. Ever since I was a little girl reading NatGeo Kids, I knew that communicating science was my passion. At college, I did everything in my power to enhance my understanding of science and improve my communication skills in hopes of helping other people understand and be inspired by the amazing world around them.
I have always envisioned myself writing for a science-based publication or doing scientific research. I am deeply passionate about science and the natural world and strive to make its representation in the media more prominent, understandable and interesting. My strong-suit is in digital media and I absolutely love learning about, creating and distributing web content to consumers on-the-go.
However, when I’m not thinking about science communication and education, which isn’t often, I love to spend my time outside hiking, snowboarding, wake boarding, riding my motorcycle and learning about the plants around me. I also never pass up on a good book!
